With woodcut initials and several woodcut illustrations. Binding in poor condition: both boards nearly detached, spine heavily worn, leather flaking and crumbling, corners and edges severely damaged; remnants of clasps present; title page and several initial and final leaves restored; library stamps to title page. Internally generally sound with wide margins. See pictures.
Opera of Saint Ambrose (c. 340–397), Bishop of Milan, preceded by a dedicatory epistle by Desiderius Erasmus of Rotterdam to Johannes à Lasco. Printed by Hagnum à Porta (Paris), 1549. With woodcut illustrations including a Crucifixion scene. Two institutional library stamps on title page.
