Original wrappers damaged but covered with recent handmade decorative paper. viii,236,42,(ii) pp. With engraved frontispiece showing a putti bearing the world on his shoulders with on the background sailingships welcomed by fire-musketry. With 24 handcoloured maps, including 1 worldmap with globe, 2 engravings with spheres and 1 with the spherical machine. - Paper first quires a bit age-toned, a few small dog's ears, but on the whole a nice interior condition, complete with all the engravings. - Rare edition, 'possibly pirated from the identical Amsterdam edition' (WorldCat)
