Binding purple silk with gilt romantic ornaments on both covers and on spine, gilt title on spine, endpapers of glazed paper; edges gilt. 252 pp. With 12 engraved plates, including frontispiece. The plates (of different paper) with serious brown spots affecting also the opposite pages, but the rest of the text is clean. - With introductory poem by Lacroix. - The binding is not faded and very well preserved (only a few rubbings) in spite of the vulnerable silk. - Rare item esteemed for the binding as well.
