19 x 12 cm. 17th-century vellum. Gilt double fillet frame to covers. Manuscript title to spine. Two parts in one volume: 523, (25) pages & 762, (22) pages. Woodcut printer's device to both titles, woodcut initials, head- and tailpieces, woodcuts of coins in the text of the Britannia. Text in Latin. Vellum slightly warped, with scattered wormholes to covers and front endpapers; first title page and first 20 pages, and last leaves with wormholes mainly to margins, without loss of text; upper margin trimmed short; rear endpaper spotted; early ownership inscription at foot of first title-page; otherwise a clean, sound copy, see pictures.

Early continental edition of Camden's Annals of the reign of Elizabeth I, here bound with the Frankfurt reprint of his Britannia. Note: the author's name is spelled 'Cambdeno' on the first title-page and 'Camdeno' on the second, both forms reflecting contemporary Latin usage. Early ownership inscription 'Ex libris Caroli [...]', dated 1679, at foot of first title-page.
